Ultrasound

Ultrasound is an imaging technique based on applying a beam of sound waves at a high frequency to the body, which is then reflected by boundaries between tissues in the path of the beam.

This results in an image of internal body structures such as tendons, muscles and blood vessels. Many different types of processes can be visualised, for example blood flow and motion of tissue over time, and even 3D-images of the anatomy of certain regions can be created. Ultrasound is a portable, cost-effective method and provides real-time images in a non-invasive and harmless way.

CTC has performed various clinical trials in which ultrasound was used for example to image the heart and bones, and to guide insertion of probes in microdialysis trials.

We provide our customers with cost-effective advice, conduct and reporting of clinical trials.
