Clinical Coding

Clinical coding by a standardised terminology and classification system provides opportunities to exchange information, evaluate, monitor and overall review reported diagnoses, symptoms and product use. It is a regulatory requirement and an essential part of safety reporting.

CTC holds valid licenses for both MedDRA and WHODrug and can offer clinical coding of adverse events, medical and surgical history and prior and concomitant medications by trained Clinical Coders in accordance with the dictionaries and classification systems listed below.

  • MedDRA
  • ATC
  • WHODrug
  • IMDRF

The International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF), has developed a code set for reporting of incidents. The purpose of the code set is to clarify the reporting of device problems, to improve the detection of incidents, and to enable the statistical processing of the accumulated material.
