Erik Rein-Hedin
Erik Rein-Hedin (MD, PhD candidate) is CTC’s deputy Chief Medical Officer (dCMO) and has been with CTC since 2016. Erik has acted as principal investigator and co-investigator in 100+ clinical trials in all clinical phases but is mainly dedicated to Phase I trials in healthy volunteers, including first-in-human.

Johan Nilsson
Johan Nilsson (MD, PhD) is a resident physician specializing in clinical pharmacology and has been working with CTC since 2020. He has experience as principal investigator and co-investigator in more than 50 clinical trials in all phases, including First-in-Human (FIH).

Björn Schultze (MD) is a resident physician in general medicine. He has been with CTC since 2022 acting as principal investigator and co-investigator in several early phase trials, including first-in-human trials.

Håkan Walfridsson (MD, PhD, Assoc.professor) is a senior consultant and associate professor in cardiology. He has over 40 years' clinical experience in cardiology with a special interest in arrhythmias and has been performing catheter ablations since the introduction of this technique.

Kaveh Azizi is a specialist physician in cardiology and internal medicine. He has a broad interest in the cardiovascular field with a special interest in arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation. Kaveh works since 2023 primarily at CTC’s Karolinska site as principal investigator and sub-investigator and has a particular focus on late-phase clinical trials.

Dag Nyholm is a specialist physician in neurology and professor of neurology at Uppsala University. His research is mostly focused on movement disorders – especially optimization of treatments in Parkinson's disease, but also cervical dystonia, essential tremor, Huntington's disease and normal pressure hydrocephalus.

Jian Fransén (MD, PhD) is a board-certified specialist physician in general surgery and has been with CTC since March 2020. His clinical interests range from wound healing and surgical devices to cancer diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.

Fredrik Huss (MD, PhD, Assoc. Professor) is a senior consultant and associate professor in plastic surgery. Fredrik is Director of Uppsala Burn Center and the Tissue Establishment at the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, both at Uppsala University Hospital.
